Released on March 26, 2008, ARB’s draft regulatory language and information on fuel pathways under the state’s Low Carbon Fuel Standard is hot off the presses.  This session provided a detailed summary of this draft language, followed by a Q&A session.

The Low Carbon Fuels 2008 Exhibit Hall featured a diverse array of low carbon and alternative fuel vehicles, trade show booths, and other interactive displays.  Attendees were free to visit each of the exciting booths and displays during this 90-minute session. The first day of these "booth-side" chat sessions focused on low carbon liquid fuels for California.

The first day of the Low Carbon Fuels 2008 Conference came to a close with a hosted reception in the Exhibit Hall.  Complimentary food and drinks were served for all attendees.  This was an excellent opportunity for delegates to network with new contacts and meet up with old friends.  Participants were encouraged to mingle and continue to walk the Exhibit Hall to visit each of the exciting booths, displays and state-of-the-art vehicles.

Attendees wishing to take a spin in some of the latest low carbon and alternative fuel vehicle technologies followed the signs to the bus station / loading zone on J Street, just outside of the Low Carbon Fuels Exhibit Hall.  Vehicles in the Ride & Drive were powered by natural gas, propane, electricity, electric hybrid systems and state-of-the-art diesel engines.

And, they learned about the MOU that has been signed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and the Swedish Minister of Environment Andreas Carlgren to help export these successful biogas technologies to California

Electric Transportation – Benefits and Opportunities, Today and in the Future
Automakers, state and federal policy makers, researchers, and many others are increasingly turning to the inherent efficiency of electric transportation technologies and electricity as a fuel to reduce GHG emissions, air pollution, and petroleum dependence at the same time!  Attendees learned about the co-benefits of electric transportation and opportunities in a wide variety of on-road and non-road applications, both today and in the not-so-distant future.  Attendees heard what California is doing and what more needs to be done to encourage the promising application of electricity in the transportation sector.
